Interestingly, some recent videos that were monetized fail to play from Wayback Machine (maybe because they are trying to play the ad at the start, which wasn't saved) but you can still download them with JDownloader 2 (and probably other video download programs). Recent videos use HTML5, so those would not need Flash. It might be failing to play for you if you use Chrome because Google discontinued support of Flash in Chrome in 2015 and Flash was used to play older videos (so Wayback Machine would also require flash to play the archived videos). When I visit the video, I accept the prompt to use Flash for that page. I was able to watch the above video using Firefox and the latest version of Flash, though I did need to go into Settings (3 horizontal bars) > Add-ons > Plugins > Shockwave Flash > Change from "Never Activate" to "Ask to Activate" (Always Activate is not secure). I tested it using JDownloader 2 on an 11 year old video (not deleted on YouTube, though that shouldn't make a difference). You should be able to download the video from Wayback Machine and watch it on your computer even if you can't watch it directly on the website. I plan on retiring this Reddit account soon, so may not receive future messages asking for help. This won't help with videos you're trying to find now, but you could prevent this in the future by using Jdownloader or some other video downloader to download a copy of currently available videos you really like that aren't likely to be mirrored by others. Your best bet these days is to try to find the same video reposted by someone else. I'll leave it up, though, for the possibility that it might work for some videos.
